Art Roundup, week of March 18th

As I continue highlighting nature’s beauty, I have a few candid shots to share. While the first two are snapshots of a local flowering tree, I’m not well versed enough to peg the actual type, but that lack of knowledge doesn’t diminish the flowers’ beauty. And sometimes there are moments when wildlife obliges you, mostly. When they come, you have to capture them.If you see any images here that aren’t available on Natural Desygns or SM Desygns reach out to me through the Etsy store and I’ll add the image to the correct store. In the meantime, click any of the images to head over to DeviantArt to get a better look.

Blooming Tree 001

Eleven months ago, I was at my local gym, and despite having gone swimming, I had a lot of pent up energy, so I decided to get a walk in as well. However, I wasn’t about to hop on a treadmill since I only bought a pair of trunks, so I tossed my bag into my car and walked around the perimeter of the parking lot. When I got to the far end of the lot, I pulled up short because I found a wall of beautiful white flowers. It was as if they were tossed over a ledge and somehow the moment was frozen in time.

I quickly pulled out my phone and stepped right up to one of the branches and focused my phone’s camera on it. Once the flower was in focus, I captured this sight. While it’s beautiful, I’m not knowledgeable enough to identify what it is. If anyone knows, feel free to let me know in the comments.

After securing a shot of one of these white flowers, studied the collection of blooms and realized that I wanted more. I needed to get another picture of these beauties. So I inched closer to one of the branches and focused my camera on a trio. May this watercolor rendition of my photo bring a smile to your face.

Waddling Bird 001

There are moments in life when everything lines up for you. In this instance, the only way this setup could have gotten any better would have been if I’d had my Nikon camera with me. As it was, I needed to rely on my phone’s camera. Thankfully, at this point in time, they’re capable of taking fantastic photos. But that’s besides the point.

One day when I was out taking care of an important errand, I stopped beside an office building positioned next to an outdoor mall. As I sauntered around the building, I stumbled upon what I want to say is a goose waddling about the patch of grass next to some parking spots. Without a second thought, I pulled out my camera and captured this fun sight.

Here’s another entry to my Man’s Best Friend gallery. While all dogs are amazing, I will be focusing on mine for the time being. Click here and buy access to this growing collection of watercolor renditions of these furry companions.

While I have two now, at the time of this picture, I only had the one. She’s a Black Lab and Border Collie mix and as a result, she’s still full of energy, despite being twelve years old. My last house didn’t really have a yard. I mean, it was a condo with about thirty square feet of grass right in front of the door. Which, for this breed, that isn’t enough space for her to run and explore.

Thankfully, when I bout my current home, I upgraded that pitiful patch of greenery for a nice sized back yard. There is plenty of room for her to explore every day. Also, given the trees near the rear of my property, she’s constantly finding sticks. And she loves her sticks. In fact, as the years have gone by, one of this dog’s favorite games is keep away. Well, that and fetch.

However, if she’s in one of her moods, she’ll grumble to let me know she’s not interested in changing games. That is, right up to the point where I grab a different stick off the ground and toss that one. Then she’s off to get her new toy.
